In high school, students do not have many options beyond public, private or home schooling. However, a new opportunity is reaching some schools—that of online education. According to a news story from KSL.com, a school in Provo, UT recently began offering an online alternative that helps parents offer a quality education in an environment of their choosing.
Due partly to the success of online college degrees, it was only a matter of time before online high school started as a way to supplement or replace home schooling. Parents who home school their children can now get instructional supplements from institutions to make their home education more rounded and informative.
Similar to getting an online degree, students can acquire an online diploma and even spend some classes at the actual school for things like music or theater.
According to the article, “e-school classes can cover most academic subjects for kids from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade. Also, principals and student groups have agreed to be open for home schooled students for after-school activities.”
Like an online education, students can receive a well-rounded education for a great price and at a great convenience. Look for this arrangement from more high schools in the future, as it is likely to pick up as much speed as online college degrees.
