Founded in 1948, Brandeis University is a private research university with a liberal arts focus located in Waltham, Massachusetts. The University is named for the late Louis Dembitz Brandeis, the distinguished associate justice of the United States Supreme Court, and reflects the values of academic excellence, commitment to social justice, respect for creativity and diversity, and concern for the world that he personified.
