According to the school, Flagler College is best described as a traditional liberal arts college. A founding principle was to provide a quality education at a reasonable cost; consequently, tuition and fees are approximately half the national average of comparable institutions. Faculty are selected and appointed on the basis of their commitment to the teaching and advising of students. Emphasis is placed upon class attendance, and a zero-tolerance policy on the use of illegal drugs is strictly enforced. The College offers over 30 student organizations, 13 intercollegiate athletic teams, and encourages community service.
