According to the school, the Florida Institute of Technology was founded in 1958 to educate scientists and engineers at what is NASA’s Kennedy Space Center today, Florida Tech is the only independent technological university in the Southeast. Located near the Atlantic Ocean and Indian River, Florida Tech offers many opportunities in marine exploration.
