Cons
Reasons to Attend
Comments about Hennepin Technical College:
It has been some time since attending HTC. AT the time I had dropped out of traditional college. I could not undersatns why I was forced to take certain general education courses that had no relationship to my main objective. I heard about Vo-Tech schools from a family member who was currently attending one. I checked in to it and had a few weeks to make up my mind, before my birthday. After my birthday I would not qualify for the student grant. It was the best decision I ever made. The staff was not just the run of the mill teacher, some were also people who spent many years working in my field of choice. I was not only getting book smarts I was getting someone elses years of experience. I had to take other unrealted general ed courses but, with everything condensed into a 12 month shortened version, it worked well. Another pluss was there was not the social peer pressures that tend to go hand in hand with college. I totally recommend technical education to the non traditional student.
