  The Role of Today’s Office Professional Continues to Evolve
  As technology continues to change the modern work place, the role of today’s office professional will continue to evolve. Office professionals need to excel in written and oral communication, interpersonal proficiency, organizational management ability, accounting, computer, and general business knowledge.

  In our business program, you will obtain a solid foundation in the human and organizational aspects of management, a broad background in business administration, and proficiency in accounting. You will be prepared to apply supervisory knowledge and skills in a variety of challenging situations in the business world.

  The accounting portion of the program is designed to permit dual entry-level employment options into either computer or accounting fields. The program provides a background in accounting concepts and general business procedures, with an emphasis on application software packages in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and financial software.

  Medical Assistants are multi-skilled health professionals who assist physicians in performing a broad range of administrative and clinical duties. This field is suitable for people who want to acquire knowledge in the medical field, help others, and enjoy working with people. The many different roles in this profession assure a fast-moving and exciting career.

  The objective of this program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for an entry-level position as a Medical Assistants. The emphasis on administrative and clinical skills includes instruction in medical terminology, medical insurance billing, medical office procedures, communication, word processing, accounting, and computer skills. The program includes an externship in a physician’s office, clinic, or other healthcare facility. Diploma courses may be applied toward the Medical Assistant Degree program.

• Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

  As a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, you stand at the crossroads of healthcare and technology, yet you make an important contribution to the delivery of quality care. Medical coders are responsible for assigning universally recognized codes for diagnoses and procedures. You will ensure proper financial reimbursement from insurance companies, government agencies; and to work with health-related information and the systems used to collect and process it.

  The objective of the Billing and Coding Degree Program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for entry-level positions as a Medical Billing and Coding professional. Since Medical Billing and Billing Coding professionals are trained in depth with CPT, ICD-9, Insurance, Reimbursements and Physician Chart Auditing, this allows for career placement in a variety of Medical Office positions.

  According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the legal assistant profession is expected to grow 33 percent by 2010. IBMC’s paralegal course includes an externship with area professionals, which prepares you for a prestigious and rewarding career in this growing industry

  While earning your degree, you’ll learn how to use legal resources, prepare legal pleadings, memoranda and documents. An externship introduces you to valuable work experience ie: You’ll demonstrate your experience in conducting client and witness interviews, analyzing legal information and working with legal professionals.

  Graduates will be able to conduct client and witness interviews, analyze and prepare legal documents, perform other tasks to support attorneys and/or other businesses that utilize paralegals.
