Administrative Assistant
The changes in office technology have resulted in new and exciting opportunities within the office-support profession. The business world offers many employment options for people with the proper training. As a trained administrative assistant, you will have office and computer skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills, as well as an understanding of business fundamentals. The Administrative Assistant Certificate program prepares students for working effectively in a variety of business settings.
Program Highlights & Objectives
The objective of the Administrative Assistant Certificate program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge to qualify them for entry-level administrative assistant positions in secretarial, receptionist, clerical, customer service/support, and similar administrative positions. The program is designed to teach oral and written communication skills, administrative office procedures, computer applications, and the foundation required for today’s office personnel. Graduates will be prepared to enter the office environment quickly, with a sense of confidence and ability. An externship allows students to use hands-on skills learned in the classroom into the workplace.

Paralegal-Certificate: To supplement an AA or BA Degree
The Paralegal Certificate Program is designed to prepare students with baccalaureate or associate college degrees to enter the legal profession upon completion of thirteen substantive law classes. Students will be prepared for entry level positions as a paralegal or legal assistant in the law office or other legal setting, and will be provided with the basic knowledge to perform the tasks required by attorneys and others that utilize paralegals in their businesses.
Graduates will be able to conduct client and witness interviews, analyze and prepare legal documents, and perform other tasks to support attorneys or other businesses that utilize paralegals. An externship is required which introduces the student to valuable work experience.
