Dental Assistant
Dental assistants enjoy a dynamic career, and are always in demand for both part-time and full-time positions. Your course objectives will be met by using the most current materials and state of the art dental laboratory and equipment. The Dental Assisting Certificate program is accredited by the American Dental Association of Commission on Dental Accreditation. Graduates of our ADA program are eligible to take the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB). Upon successful program completion, Intellitec Medical Institute issues the following certificates:
- Certificate of Proficiency in Dental Assisting
- Certificate of Proficiency in Dental Radiography
- Certificate of Coronal Polish
- AHA Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
In fact, this program is one of the few dental assisting training programs in the state that is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation, which ensures the highest curriculum and instructional standards.
You get the opportunity to perform various dental assisting tasks, such as exposing and developing dental radiographs, taking impressions, pouring and trimming models, instrument and procedural set-ups, patient management, and equipment sterilization and disinfection.

Intellitec Medical Institute ADA Accredited Dental Assistant Certificate program includes a 300-hour externship, providing you the opportunity to practice your skills in a real-world setting in the Colorado Springs area. Students are eligible to apply for the nationally recognized Certified Dental Assistant Examination offered by the Dental Assisting National Board, Incorporated (DANB). Successful Completion of the DANB Examination awards students the status of Certified Dental Assistant (CDA).
Upon passing the Registered Dental Assisting examination, you graduate with a professional Dental Assistant certificate and are eligible to immediately sit for the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) and become Certified Dental Assistants (CDA). This certification is recognized nationwide. As a graduate, you are also certified by the State of Colorado in Dental Radiology and obtain a certification in CPR.

Expanded Duty Dental Assistant
Building on existing knowledge obtained through dental technician school and work experience, the Expanded Duty Dental Assistant program gains you the skills necessary to perform restorative procedures under a dentist?s supervision.
The Expanded Duty Dental Assistant training course is an accelerated 40-hour certificate program with classes limited to six students in order to provide a one-on-one learning environment. Plus, the advanced dental assistant course comprises lab work on placement of bases and liners, etching, bonding, composite resin, and amalgam utilizing two- and four-handed dentistry.
Upon graduation of the Expanded Duty Dental Assistant training course, you will have the knowledge and skills to work with:
- Caries and cavity classifications
- Tooth morphology
- Cavity preparations
- Properties of amalgam
Additionally, you will have the ability to carve and finish restorations.

Massage Therapist
If you’re researching massage therapy schools in Colorado Springs, consider Intellitec?s comprehensive Massage Therapy course.
Upon graduation, you are granted an Associate of Occupational Studies degree and officially recognized as a certified massage therapist. You are then eligible to sit for the Colorado Springs City licensing exam and the National Certification exam.

The Medical Administrative Assistant program is designed to provide you the business, technology and communication skills needed to work in a private physician?s office, clinic, hospital setting or professional dental environment.
You receive an Associate of Occupational Studies degree, which makes you eligible to sit for the Certified Billing and Coding Specialist and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant certifications from the National Healthcare Association (NHA). Plus, you are eligible to sit for NHA?s Certified Medical Transcriptionists exam.
The Medical Administrative Assistant program prepares you with the knowledge and skills to:
- Edit and format transcriptions
- Interpret documentation into alphanumeric form through correct coding
- Utilize various medical software
- Code from ICD-9-CM, CPT-4 and ADA codes
Additionally, you?ll gain insight on anatomy and physiology, medical office procedures, medical law and ethics, and computer applications. You?ll also benefit from medical billing and coding classes, essential in working with insurance companies, hospitals, pharmacies and doctors? offices.
The Medical Administrative Assistant program also comprises an externship, which provides you an opportunity to put your skills to work in a real-world situation within the Colorado Springs community.

Medical Assistant

Medical Laboratory Technician
As a medical laboratory technician, you can select from a range of employment opportunities with hospitals, health laboratories, clinics, blood banks and research labs.
You’ll learn a number of universal medical laboratory testing procedures; how to prepare, store and transport samples; and how to document results. To provide you optimal training and experience, your classrooms are maintained like working medical laboratories, with appropriate medical equipment and emphasis on safety, OSHA standards, universal precautions and personal protective equipment.
Upon graduation, you receive an Associate of Applied Science degree and are eligible to take a national registry examination through the American Medical Technologists (AMT), which designates you as a fully-certified medical laboratory technician.
Both day and evening classes are available for the Medical Laboratory Technician program.
