According to the school, founded in 1906, Louisiana College is a private, Christian, coeducational school of liberal arts and sciences. Built upon the principles of character and learning, the College has a tradition of outstanding academics. Eighty-three percent of the pre-med graduates over the past five years have been admitted into accredited medical schools. The five-year average for Louisiana College pre-law graduates accepted into accredited law schools is 96.5%. Most Louisiana College graduates enroll in law schools within Louisiana, where only 52% of applicants on average are accepted. Louisiana College’s teacher education graduates excel in passing the Praxis. Ninety-eight percent of them have passed the test since it was first required in Louisiana in 1979, and the job market for education graduates from Louisiana College remains very strong. Over the past five years, 89.6% of LC students who applied for admission to graduate schools of social work were accepted for admission. Of those admitted, 92.3% were accepted for Advanced Standing.
