Reasons to Attend
Comments about Marymount University:
I was a young introvert who had always attended small classes, and I had felt that a big school would be intimidating. I also wanted to stay relatively close to home so I could escape there on the weekends.
I also wanted a graphic design program that wouldn't reject me offhand for a less than stellar portfolio (many design schools have a portfolio review prior to admission). I count this as both a pro and a con... some other students really struggled to make do and this could slow the pace of classes somewhat.
I found the instructors and advisors to be knowledgeable and helpful: they really seem to care about their students. It also helps because they have 4 years to build a relationship with you (many teach multiple classes) and help you bolster your weak areas.
