Reasons to Attend
Comments about Ohio State University:
I grew up in a fairly homogeneous town in Ohio and wanted a big, diverse school - luckily I had the biggest in my backyard! I feel as though I had the perfect college experience both academically and professionally, and am confident that I would not have had a similar experience at any other university. I majored in French with Honors, and that way class sizes were capped and that I had mostly true professors for classes. (Honors French Lit 600 also isn't in high demand...) The experience you can have at OSU is entirely of your own design, which is awesome, although some folks can get lost. The campus constantly grows and evolves, and they have done a lot to the immediate area around campus and it's quite nice. Columbus in general is a great city and has a little bit of everything you could want. And who could beat the sports scene?? Go Bucks!
Pros
- Convenient locations
- Great instructors
- Number of degree offerings
- Online classes
- Provided personal attention
Cons
- High tuition costs

Comments about Ohio State University:
I chose to attend The Ohio State University for graduate school because of the amazing reputation, the vibe I received when meeting with the school administration, and the location. As a huge college-town, Columbus is quite possibly one of the best kept secrets out there. There is so much to do in the city, good food, great zoo, etc., and if you find the need to visit the symphony or an NFL game, you're only 1.5 hours from both Cleveland and Cinncinnati. In addition, Columbus is a hub for Southwest, and has a never-crowded airport so you can travel easily all over and never have to wait! The school has one of the largest student bodies in the country and there is a strong kinship between buckeyes! I've meet other graduates in Maryland, California, and places in between and have never heard anything negative about the school. My only reservation is the cost of tuition; even though they offer in-state tuition after the first year of living there, it's still fairly pricey. Fortunately, the cost-of-living in Columbus is really not very high. Anyway, I feel like I received a top-notch education and feel better trained than most of my other recent-graduate colleagues. Lastly, I think Dr. e. Gordon Gee has tremendous insight into the potential of the school and has laid the foundation for some pretty exciting changes for one of the original land-grant universities! You will not regret choosing to attend The Ohio State University!!!
