St. Cloud State University’s 16,000 students share a 137-year heritage of excellence and opportunity at our campus on the Mississippi River. Our first students came from neighboring farms and towns to learn how to teach Minnesota schoolchildren. Today’s students come from every part of the state, the country, and 92 countries of the world to prepare to excel in business, communication, health care, social services, and a wide array of fields -ncluding the education of Minnesota schoolchildren. \r\n\r\nIn an environment that values global education, civic engagement and critical thinking along with career preparation, SCSU is a comprehensive university offering 175 undergraduate and graduate programs of study. Seventy-nine percent of our faculty have attained the highest academic level for their field, the highest percentage of any of the 33 institutions in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System.\r\n\r\nRenowned for its colleges of education and business, SCSU also has popular programs in such diverse fields as mass communications and electrical engineering, psychology, meteorology and nursing.
