In 1875, Benedictine monks brought the Catholic faith to what was then Indian Territory. They overcame great obstacles and challenges while establishing their monastery, schools and many parishes throughout the Territory. In the face of hardship, they remained focused on the Benedictine practices of attentive listening to God, hospitality and respect for the dignity of all persons. The schools were founded upon the principle of educating the whole person and the integration of the Catholic liberal arts tradition, character formation and training for success in life.
At St. Gregory’s University, we continue to hold fast to the timeless values of our Catholic faith and Benedictine tradition, while responding to the ever-changing needs, challenges and opportunities of the modern world.
There has never been a more exciting time in our history and we invite you to be part of this excellent institution as St. Gregory’s University becomes the premier, residential liberal arts college inspired by Benedictine values and Catholic excellence.
