The Mission of Shorter University is to provide quality higher education, enabling and encouraging student commitment to active life-long learning, personal spiritual values, responsible citizenship, and community and societal leadership in a global context.

The University seeks to accomplish this Mission through quality undergraduate liberal arts programs, specialized professional programs, and select graduate programs.

Professional Studies degree programs target goal-oriented individuals who seek personal and professional growth. Programs have been customized for individuals with little previous college experience and for those with extensive educational backgrounds.

Shorter University’s School of Business Management offers three undergraduate and two graduate level degree programs.

Associate of Science in Business – this degree provides an excellent foundation in general education while preparing students for continued studies toward the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Human Services, or Bachelor of Science in Management.

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – The BSBA degree program is designed for the business student and consists of 48 core credit hours. This core includes courses in accounting, marketing, economics, law, business communications, statistics, leadership and management.

Bachelor of Science in Management – The BSM degree program is designed for the undergraduate level management student, and consists of 46 core credit hours. This core includes courses in team development, conflict management, professional communications, financial and information management, human behavior, problem solving, critical analysis and decision making, systems thinking and change management

Master of Business Administration – The MBA degree program is designed for the graduate level business student and consists of 37 core credit hours. This core includes courses in business management that cover topics such as executive communications, accounting, economics, legal issues, marketing, human relations and statistical analysis.

Master of Arts – Major in Leadership – The MA degree program is designed for the graduate level management student and consists of 34 core credit hours. This core includes courses in organizational management that cover topics such as systems and structure, culture and politics, influence and power, conflict, communication and data analysis.
