SCSU’s special strengths are its affordability and its history of providing a nurturing environment that allows its ‘diamonds in the rough’ (i.e. those students who are not as academically prepared as their counterparts who enroll at State or in other institutions) to become ‘polished jewels’ (nationally competitive).
