Southwest Baptist University is a dynamic comprehensive Christian university with roots stemming from a long-standing Baptist heritage. Founded in 1878, SBU is committed to helping students grow intellectually and spiritually and encourages students to integrate knowledge, character and faith into their everyday lives. Our mission states that SBU is a Christ-centered caring academic community preparing students to be servant leaders in a global society. Approximately 3,600 students attend SBU in Bolivar and at our three degree-granting centers. SBU has completed a $12 million dollar wellness and sports center.
