Stony Brook’s many combined bachelor’s/master’s degree programs for undergraduates include several secondary teacher preparation programs as well as our Scholars for Medicine combined bachelor’s/M.D. program.Our School of Journalism offers a major in journalism and a state-of-the-art Newsroom of the Future. Students in the biomedical engineering major combine their interests in biology, chemistry, computer programming, engineering, and math. Our School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences provides opportune access to waterfront laboratories and research vessels on both the north and south shores of Long Island. Student clubs and academic advising support students heading toward careers in engineering, law, medicine, and a range of health professions. Our world-class undergraduate research program offers guidance toward research placements in all of these areas and more, wherever your interests lie. Each spring the University pays tribute to students’ accomplishments in all the arts and sciences with a day of exhibition and performance. Stony Brook has more than 300 clubs and organizations for students and offers an extensive intramural program.
