Trinity College is an independent, nonsectarian liberal arts college located in Connecticut’s historic capital city of Hartford. Founded in 1823, Trinity brings the tradition of liberal arts into the 21st century with a dynamic living and learning community. Approximately 2,300 students work closely with faculty, extend their education through campus activities, engage with the city through internships and community service, and explore the wider world through study abroad and international initiatives. Our mission is to foster critical thinking, free the mind of parochialism and prejudice, and prepare students to lead examined lives that are personally satisfying, civicly responsible, and socially useful.

Comments about Trinity College:
Trinity is an incredible school and I consider myself very fortunate to have been a Trinity student. The classes are small and afford the opportunity to develop close relationships with professors--professors who are extraordinarily knowledgable and well-regarded in their fields. The campus can, at times, seem small and homogenous, and many of its extracurriculars are not always visible. I actually consider this to be one of Trinity's "pros," because it forced me to be more proactive in seeking out the types of activities/extracurriculars/students I enjoy.
Pros
- Beautiful Campus
- Campus Social Life
- Great instructors
- Great StudyAbroad Options
- Helpful Alums
- Provided personal attention
- Strong Dorms
Cons
- Food is scary and costly
- Hartford is Terrible
- High tuition costs
- Kind of homogeneous
- No online classes
- Racism Issues

Comments about Trinity College:
I went to Trinity because of the small class size, strong economics and political science departments and gorgeous campus. I was not disappointed in any of these areas. While many of the students at Trinity have more of a party mentality, this is not the case universally and the professors are generally top notch. Many classes are really small, and it is very easy to get to know professors. All of them are very accessible.
The campus is amazing, and was designed a few hundred years ago. That being said, the surrounding area is atrocious. Crime is rampant and it is impossible to simply walk off of the campus for any reason. Shaky relations with the local community may have also contributed to a few racially charged incidences which shocked the school.
I would consider Trinity to be a party school. Most kids on campus drink on the weekend. There is an alternative scene as well, but fewer kids choose not to drink, and none that I knew very well. Coke is especially prominent, but is generally done behind closed doors and no one is pressured to partake.
The frats on campus dominate the social scene even though only a small percentage of kids are in them. They have parties on the weekends, including "late night, and most kids go to them. However, as I graduated several other party options began to open up, including a few concert venues and other organizations that would host events. Upper class men tend to go to dorm and off campus parties more as opposed to the frats.
The on campus food is pretty terrible, expensive, and is required if you live on campus and are not a senior. They constantly change around the options, but never improve the quality.
Pros
- Beautiful Campus
- Fun social scene
- Good athletics
- Good Campus Environment
- Great instructors
- Number of degree offerings
- Provided personal attention
- Small class sizes
Cons
- High tuition costs
- No online classes
- Unsafe surrounding city

Comments about Trinity College:
Trinity is an excellent institution that offers a wide range of liberal arts majors, excellent professors, a rigorous academic schedule, and a great social scene.
I went to Trinity because I was looking for a liberal arts education in the Northeast. I learned a lot in a number of different areas of study and made lifelong friends.
I highly recommend Trinity for anyone looking for a well balanced and fun college experience.
