According to the school, the University of Nevada is one of the country’s major, land-grant research institutions, featuring a picturesque 255-acre campus in the fastest-growing state. Its many attributes include: its leadership of the University Studies Abroad Consortium, 29 institutions with students pursuing academic programs in 21 countries; its Quadrangle, a “Jeffersonian academic village” on the National Register of Historic Places; a journalism school producing six Pulitzer Prize winners; its medical education and scientific specialties including health, hydrology and seismic studies; and its acclaimed and conscientious faculty who create a rich intellectual environment at reasonable cost for each student.

Comments about University of Nevada, Reno:
As far as state schools go, University of Nevada is an excellent investment. The cost of tuition is well worth the education that it provides. Classes are not extremely large and thus more attention is provided to each student. Reno is also a great college town. The city is large enough to provide plenty to do and Reno is also located about 30 minutes from gorgeous Lake Tahoe. There are limitless places to camp, hike, ski, bike, etc. I would highly recommend UNR to anyone looking for a unique and affordable educational experience both undergraduate and beyond.
