Reasons to Attend
As a lesbian, I always felt unsafe living in Texas. Not so within the boundaries of the UT campus, a welcoming and diverse environment. I never felt that my well-being was threatened in any way, and the amount of specific classes offered on LGBT topics was considerable. I often joked that I was "minoring in gay." All in all, an oasis of open-mindedness and acceptance in an otherwise small-minded state.
