According to the school, Amridge University is primarily a distance learning institution, although there are many classes offered on campus. The academic year consists of three semesters: fall, spring, and summer. A student must fulfill the required semester hours in a major as well as the basic requirements of the core curriculum. All core and major requirements can be received from the University. Amridge University programs have a traditional structure. Distance education is approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the U.S. Department of Education, ensuring that distance education students receive the same high-quality education as on-campus students. Faculty and student services for students on campus are available to distance learners. Amridge University ensures that students have regular contact with faculty and staff members via e-mail and telephone. No residency is required for undergraduates. In addition to offering distance learning to a diverse array of individuals, Amridge University is a participating member of the GoArmyEd project. This is an online, streamlined process, giving soldiers easy access to obtaining funding for their educations.\r\n\r\nAmridge University’s Air University’s Associate to Baccalaureate Cooperative Program (AU-ABC) Program—an initiative between Air University and civilian higher education institutions, including Amridge University, to offer baccalaureate degree programs via distance learning that are relevant to an individual’s Air Force career field. The program is designed to transfer CCAF credits so students can obtain a bachelor’s degree with no more than 60 additional semester credits. Students will be able to go to one centralized web site, the Air Force Virtual Education Center, for their educational needs including approved degree programs offered through the AU-ABC Program. \r\n\r\nAmridge University is open to all persons who are of good character and who are academically qualified. The University has developed a streamlined admissions process to help potential students complete the process in a timely manner so they can begin their studies. As new technologies and processes become available, Amridge University makes every effort to adopt and use the latest technologies to help the admissions process.
