Eastern Nazarene College

Quincy

Founded in 1900, Eastern Nazarene College (ENC) continues to thrive today as a Christian college of the liberal arts & sciences on Boston’s historic South Shore, awarding baccalaureate and graduate degrees in over 50 areas of academic study. The Pre-law program at the College has maintained an incredible 100 per cent acceptance rate into law schools for the past 30 years, and ENC’s 94 per cent acceptance rate into medical schools for its graduates is over twice the national average. A suburb of Boston, Quincy is a beautiful and historic seaside city – the birthplace of John Adams and John Quincy Adams, as well as John Hancock. ENC’s main campus was once the summer home of Boston mayor Josiah Quincy, Jr., and the newest additions to the College footprint are the Paul Center for Business and the Cameron Center for History, Law, & Government, on Old Colony Avenue in Quincy. Other facilities, such as those in the Mann Student Center, have recently undergone extensive renovations. With an idyllic 17-acre campus set in a suburban, residential New England neighborhood and a total student population of just over one thousand, ENC’s size is one of its greatest assets. The campus atmosphere fosters a sense of belonging, and long-lasting friendships are forged not just between classmates, but between all members of the ENC community. Class sizes also remain small, facilitating discussion among peers and allowing professors to engage their students more effectively. Over 80 per cent of the full-time faculty members at Eastern Nazarene College hold an earned PhD or other terminal degree. Professors at the College are committed Christians who hold degrees from Ivy League universities and other top-ranked research institutions, receive national recognition for their academic achievements, interact with students on a personal basis, and are professionally active in Boston and beyond. Students at the College are also highly engaged, and have recently been involved in such activities as research at Harvard, study at Oxford, music tours in the South Pacific, caring for sick children in Uganda, outreach to the homeless of Boston, and ecological conservation on the South Shore. Many have discovered their life’s purpose while at ENC, and graduates of the College experience extraordinary success in fields as diverse as astrophysics and urban ministry.
