Iona College, a Catholic, coeducational, liberal arts institution founded in the tradition of the Christian Brothers, has strong commitments to community service, diversity, and academic excellence. The campus is a welcoming environment to students from diverse backgrounds, coming from around the country and around the world. Iona students, faculty, and staff participate in community service projects throughout the year. While the campus is situated in suburban New Rochelle, Iona’s academic and student development programs have multiple links to nearby New York City financial, media, and cultural organizations. Iona College is one of the only colleges in the region to hold several national accreditations for its academic programs, including business, social work, teacher education, computer science, journalism and mass communication, and marriage and family therapy. Additionally, Iona has integrated within its curriculum a structured four-year career development program which includes extensive internship opportunities in all programs. Iona prides itself in being a regional leader in educational technology and among the first colleges in the nation to install a completely wireless network. Iona has recently introduced 52 dual MAC systems in the Ryan Library. These systems support both MAC and Windows software for student and faculty use. A major building campaign has resulted in new residence halls, a student center, an athletics center, and a new library.
