Doctor of Philosophy in Human Resource Management
National University’s Doctor of Philosophy in Human Resource Management (PhD-HRM) degree is a research-based program designed to help students gain the expert-level knowledge needed to assume leadership positions in the private, public and nonprofit sectors. It offers students a greater level of understanding of human resource theories and practices, including critical thinking and research skills. Upon graduation, students will be prepared to lead human resource management programs as well as contribute to the body of knowledge within the field.
This program covers foundational concepts along with the evolution of human resources into a role that enhances global business environments. Students will explore the concepts of extrinsic and intrinsic compensation, how to improve organizational effectiveness and how to motivate diverse workforces. Other areas of focus include working within a unionized environment, legal issues impacting human resources and how to improve diversity and inclusion. Additionally, students will develop quantitative and qualitative research design and methodology.
