Olivet College
Olivet College was the first college in the United States, by charter, to admit women and people of color. In addition, Olivet College has provided an opportunity for students of all socioeconomic backgrounds to attend college. The academic vision of Education for Individual and Social Responsibility requires students to focus not only on their own personal development, but also assist others. This responsibility theme is also expressed in the Olivet College Compact, which is a guide for responsible behavior. Finally, Olivet College believes in providing an educational experience where the curriculum and the co-curriculum are integrated through responsible student organizations.
