SUNY Upstate Medical University consists of four colleges-Medicine, Health Professions, Nursing and Graduate Studies; a 350-bed hospital and trauma center; and hundreds of specialty medical clinics. The colleges of Health Professions and Nursing are upper-division transfer and graduate colleges, accepting students with a minimum of two years of completed college course work (DPT and Physician Assistant require a bachelors degree). The colleges of Medicine and Graduate Studies are graduate schools, accepting students with four-year degrees. Upstate is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) education system. Our programs cost much less than those at most private colleges and universities. Syracuse is an affordable, medium-sized city with big city sports, arts and recreation.
