\r\nThe University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo is an autonomous unit of Puerto Ricos Public\r\nHigher Education System. It is located on the North-Central region of the island, a\r\ngeographical area where cattle and dairy businesses coexist with a concentration of high\r\ntechnology industries. This allows for a wide range of economic activities and services.\r\nThis University is an institution devoted to the production and dissemination of knowledge\r\nthrough teaching and research in the areas of the arts, sciences and technologies. It seeks\r\nto impart a quality university education that furthers the integral development at its students\r\nas professionals and citizens. To achieve this goal it offers a variety of programs in Arts and\r\nSciences leading to associate and bachelors degrees and transfer programs. These are\r\nsupported by a network of student services and by a faculty committed to keeping abreast of\r\ndevelopments in knowledge and the technologies to improve the teaching-learning process.\r\nThis Institution identifies with the values stated in the Mission of the University of Puerto\r\nRico.
