William Woods University is a coeducational, independent professions-oriented, liberal arts institution of over 2,500 students. Founded in 1870, it is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The scenic campus is situated on 170 acres with two lakes. Unique programs of study include an internationally recognized equestrian studies program and a four-year American Sign Language Interpreting program (one of only 25 in the U. S. and Canada). The school’s innovative LEAD (Leading, Educating, Achieving, and Developing) program provides awards ($5,000 to residential students; $2,500 to commuter students) to any incoming student who agrees to make a commitment to campus and community involvement. William Woods University also prides itself on its innovative Graduate and Adult Studies cohort program, which enables working adults to pursue their degree in an accelerated format.
