Comments about Snow College:
After graduating from high school, I debated between going straight to Brigham Young University, or earning my Associates at Snow College, and then transferring to BYU. I decided to go to Snow College over BYU because I received a full-tuition scholarship plus a housing scholarship at Snow (and was offered nothing at BYU). For me, it was much more affordable to go to Snow. I felt like it was the perfect stepping stone from high school into higher education.
One great thing about Snow College is that you do not have to sit in a lecture room built for hundreds of students, while pinching yourself to stay awake from the very back. The class sizes are very small (some of mine were as small as 12). The professors taught all classes and graded all of my work (no TA's).
I felt like my professors all knew me and cared about me on a personal level. I can recall having a biology lesson at a professor's house as we observed birds. I remember sitting in another professor's office as we discussed my grades and how I was doing in the class. President Benson, the President of the University, even donated money so I could go to Russia for a semester of service after I graduated. I'll never forget President Benson walking up to me, calling me by name, and shaking my hand at graduation.
Even though it is set in rural, Central Utah, I still felt like there were plenty of fun things to do. The Student Body leaders planned fun activities every month. Being that the school is small, there were many leadership opportunities. My second year at Snow, I was able to serve as an appointed officer and organize service projects for the entire school every few months. I felt like was was able to give back to the community, while learning how to lead.
I was very glad that I decided to go to Snow College first, and then transfer to a larger school to continue my education. After working had for two years at Snow, I was able to transfer to BYU and received a full-tuition scholarship. I loved my experience as a Badger!

Comments about Snow College:
Snow college was the perfect school to go to right after high school. The transition was so easy, every one is extremely friendly and the housing is so close to campus! I loved the extracurricular activities that Snow college provided. I feel I new or had seen most of the students at the school. The classes were a good size and I loved all of my professors! Ephraim is a great little town. You do have to get a little creative with things to do in town but there are some great restaurants and there are canyons nearby for camping, hiking and parties! I loved my experience at Snow college

Comments about Snow College:
Snow was the perfect school for me because not only was it cheap, but it was small. One of the things that I was really happy about was that the classes are smaller. Even though the workload was still tough, the smaller classes allowed me to be able to talk to by professors one on one. This is an opportunity not all schools can provide.
I also found that the housing was ideal. Even the off campus housing is really close to campus. Mine was just across the street. This makes it easier to save money on gas, get to classes on time, and go home in between classes. Even the people who lived in the furthest housing available that I knew of walked to school.
The people at this school is what makes it so wonderful. When you walk to classes, it's strange to not have someone say hi to you, whether you know them or not. There are lots of activities, like stomps, that the SBOs put together. There is usually a stomp every other week. These are an excellent escape from the stress of classes. It is also how I bonded with my roommates.
There are fabulous clubs at Snow College. Since I'm going into the medical field, I joined the club called Dead Cats Society, which is basically the medical club. We did tons of service projects and learned things like how to sew stitches in skin. We even got to practice on pigs feet. I don't even know where to begin on how wonderful the biological science classes are. At Snow, students have the opportunity not only to learn using cadavers, but if you earn good grades in anatomy, to dissect them. This is a unique opportunity that not many schools can offer to junior college students.
The tutoring programs are wonderful. I used them and they helped me a lot.
Although some might be deterred by the small town scene, Snow college still deserves a chance. You'll make lasting friendships and learn so much! I wasn't planning on going there, but I'm so glad I did!
