Comments about South Dakota School of Mines and Technology:
This school is well known in engineering circles in the area. It is well know because of the high quality of education and the high quality of engineers that are coming out of the school. The school teaches hard work and stresses hands on learning. The classes are small and the professors know you by name. I could go back now after 5+ yrs and the professors would still know my name. I graduated with very little debt and got a high paying engineering job, as did 95% of the other engineers in my class.
There is not much available online or for PhD's. The school is in a beautiful area in the Black Hills. It is a little isolated from big city life. The social aspect is a little boring too, but that is expected for any serious engineering school
