Interdisciplinary centers and institutes conduct collaborative research to seek innovative solutions to economic, technological, and social problems. With more than 44,000 students, 891 full-time instructional faculty, and over 9,000 degrees awarded in 2009-2010, FIU is the largest university in South Florida.
