According to the school, Mary Baldwin College combines a high quality liberal arts education with professional training and close individual attention. We boast a highly diverse campus where international and students of color hold elected and appointed leadership positions and where the campus benefits from diverse cultural activities. MBC has a unique early admittance program for gifted young women (Program for the Exceptionally Gifted) and an innovative ‘24/7’ leadership program (Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership) with extensive co-curricular as well as curricular components. In addition to the usual academic components of a liberal education, in line with our commitment to diversity, we offer Asian Studies with study abroad at our sister school in Kyoto, Japan, as well as academic programs in Arabic, African-American studies, Latin American Studies, and Women’s Studies.
