Alfred State College is located in the beautiful Southern Tier, surrounded by lakes, ponds, wetlands, and state parks. Alfred is a vibrant community with a permanent population of approximately 2,000 residents and nearly 6,000 students enrolled in three colleges. It is 15 miles north of the Pennsylvania border, 75 miles south of Rochester, and 90 miles southeast of Buffalo. The college enrolls approximately 3,500 students annually. There are some 275 teaching faculty and professional staff supporting the College’s more than 70 programs in agriculture, allied health, business, and engineering technologies, liberal arts and sciences, and 18 programs in applied technology.
