According to the school, the University of Puerto Rico — Humacao’s mission is to effectively contribute to the ethical, cultural an intellectual development of Puerto Rico in general, and of the eastern region in particular, through academics, aesthetic expression, scientific and humanistic research and the dissemination of knowledge. The University of Puerto Rico at Humacao is now the main university center in the eastern region of the island. Our privileged location provides access to diverse educational investigation centers that serve as laboratories for studies in marine biology, wild life, biotechnology, and electronics.
