According to the school, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is a premier regional comprehensive university that takes pride in its regional leadership, national presence and global vision. The College of Education provides the most new teachers to the state of Wisconsin. UW-Whitewaters athletic department has some of the biggest and best facilities in NCAA Division III and is home to some of the most competitive teams and athletes. The Warhawks have won national championships in volleyball, baseball, and most recently football. UW-Whitewater also provides exceptional support for students. New Mobility magazine ranks UW-Whitewater one of the top 10 disability friendly, public universities in the U.S. \r\nLeadership is also a priority for UW-Whitewater students. Recently, more than 5,000 students generated nearly 25,000 hours of service to 152 community agencies. These same students also raised more than $60,000 for food pantries, literacy programs, animal shelters, and victims of Hurricane Katrina. The campus American Marketing Association remains the most decorated chapter in the nation for its work on marketing case studies and competitions. The AMA chapter is just one of the more than 160 student organizations available to students. UW-Whitewater has a national reputation for undergraduate research. The university consistently sends one of the largest groups of students to the National Conference on Undergraduate Research. In 2007, nearly 80 student researchers traveled to NCUR, the second highest number of participants in the nation. UW-Whitewater also recognizes the importance of international education. The university offers many different short-term and semester-long travel study opportunities across the globe.
